We love to see how our customers are using Hotel Spero in their daily lives, and wish to gather examples of the most distinctive, creative and elegant presentations of our product. We regularly reach out to customers to request additional rights to reproduce images on our website, social media sites and more.

By responding to our request with the hashtag #YesHotelSpero you are agreeing to the following:

User Content

As between you and us, you own all content and information you post or share using the Site (referred to as “User Content”), such as posting or sharing comments, photos, and videos. You give Hotel Spero permission to use your User Content as follows: you grant to Hotel Spero a license to reproduce, display, perform, distribute, modify, and otherwise use your User Content in connection with the Site and for other Hotel Spero marketing purposes, including without limitation in Hotel Spero email, website, social media sites and other customer communications, as well as with our Hotel Spero partners. We may display advertisements in connection with your User Content or on pages where your User Content may be viewed by you or others, and we may use your User Content to advertise and promote Hotel Spero or the Site. Our license to your User Content is non-exclusive, meaning you may use the User Content for your own purposes or let others use your User Content for their purposes. Our license to your User Content is fully-paid and royalty free, meaning we do not owe you anything else in connection with our use of your User Content. We may exercise our rights anywhere in the world. Finally, our license is perpetual, meaning that our license lasts for an indefinite period of time.

You promise that:

  • You own all rights to your User Content or, alternatively, that you have the right to give Hotel Spero the rights described above;
  • You have paid and will pay in full any fees or other payments that may be related to the use of your User Content; and
  • Your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other legal rights of any third party.

We may refuse to accept or transmit User Content for any reason. We may remove User Content from the Site for any reason.

Q. What are the Cleanliness Protocols?

Q. What time is check-in/check-out?
A. Check-in is at 3:00 pm and check-out is at 12:00 noon.

Q. Do you allow smoking in the rooms or on property?
A. No, Hotel Spero at Union Square is a smoke-free establishment.

Q. Do you have high-speed wired and/or wireless internet access available?
A. Wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel and high-speed wired internet access is available in all guest rooms.

Q. Do you have a fitness center? What kind of equipment does it have? What are the hours?
A. Yes, we have an onsite 24-hour fitness center, featuring Precor equipment and 2 Peloton bikes.

Q. Do you offer room service? What are the hours?
A. We do not offer room service, but our onsite restaurant, Jasper’s Corner Tap and Kitchen, provides take-out orders. Online takeout ordering is available as well as in-person or via phone. Jasper’s is connected to Hotel Spero through the lobby.

Q. I want to ship a package to arrive before or during my stay. Do you allow this?
A. Yes! We’re happy to accept packages for guests. Please send the package to Hotel Spero at Union Square, Attention: (Guest’s Name), 405 Taylor St, San Francisco, CA 94102. If you’d like to let us know when the package is sent, we’ll be happy to make a note to keep an eye out for it. Please note that if the guest has already departed when the package arrives, we cannot hold it and will return the packages to the sender.

Q. Do you have a business center?
A. Yes; the business center is open 24 hours a day.

Q. Do you have a pool?
A. No, we do not have a pool at the hotel.

Q. Do you have a spa? What are the hours?
A. Hotel Spero at Union Square does not have a spa. Our helpful concierge can point you toward a recommended nearby spa. Just ask at the concierge desk.

Q. What are your cross streets?
A. Taylor and O’Farrell.

Q. Do you offer free shuttle service from the airport?
A. We do not provide free shuttle service or any shuttle service from the airport.

Q. Do you provide rollaway beds or cribs? Is there a charge?
A. We don’t have any rollaway beds at Hotel Spero at Union Square. Cribs are available and free of charge.

Q. I booked on a website other than the hotel website and I need to make a change to my reservation. How do I do this?
A. You must go through the booking agent/website that you went through in order to change your reservation.

Q. What is the minimum age requirement to check-in to the room?
A. You must be 18 years of age with a valid ID to check in to the hotel.

Q. What is your cancellation/deposit policy?
A. We require a credit card at the time of booking. You must cancel at least 48 hours prior to arrival (3pm local hotel time) to avoid a one night’s room and tax to your card. Please note that for special rates, packages and certain seasons, this policy is subject to change. Credit card deposit is required to check-in, we are unable to accept cash deposits under any circumstances.

Q. Is my ID/passport and credit card/ debit card required at check-in?
A. We require presentation of a valid government-issued identification and credit card or debit card at the time of check-in.

Q. Do you have connecting rooms?
A. Yes, we have some connecting rooms at the hotel. You may make a request for connecting rooms when you reserve your rooms. However, they are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Q. Do you have accessible rooms?
A. Yes, we have accessible suites. These suites include roll-in showers with support bars.

Q. Do you have an early departure fee?
A. Yes, an early departure fee in an amount of up to one night’s room and tax may apply and is subject to change based on certain offers or packages.

Q. What is included in the Guest Amenities Fee?
A. Our Guest Amenities Fee includes a lot of value for our guests: Welcome gift at check-in; high speed internet and wifi access; 24-hour access to the fitness center; unlimited access to co-working space and business center use for printing and scanning; access to water station in lobby and fitness center; freshly brewed coffee and tea in the lobby from 5:30am - 10:00am daily; choice of personalized room scent; One 10% off voucher for Jasper's Corner Tap & Kitchen." We are constantly adding to the benefits!

Q. Do you have on-site parking? Where is parking located? How much is parking?
A. If traveling with your vehicle, there are self-parking options near the hotel. We recommend using our loading zones in front of the hotel to unload your luggage before you park. The following is a list of nearby parking structures we recommend: Ace Parking 415 Taylor Garage, Mason O’Farrell Garage, Hilton Union Square Garage. Fees and rates vary by location. Space is limited and on a first come first serve basis. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made here.


Q. What are the hours of the restaurant/bar/lounge?
A. Jasper's Corner Tap & Kitchen is located on-site and opens daily. Please visit the website for up-to-date hours, make a reservation for our Union Square restaurant, or order take-out orders online.


Q. I have questions about my bill. Who do I call?
A. You can call the Hotel Spero at Union Square general line at (415) 885-2500 for any questions pertaining to your bill. Please ask for the accounting department.

Q. What forms of payment are accepted to pay for my room?
A. We accept all major credit cards/debit cards. When you check in to the hotel, we will hold the full room and tax total, plus $75 hold per day for incidentals. These charges will be released from your account within 5 days after check out. We do not accept checks. If you would like to check in to the hotel with cash, we will ask for the full payment of room charges, applicable taxes, and resort fee. In addition, we will require a security deposit. Your security deposit may be refunded after your room has been inspected upon your departure. Credit card deposit is required to check-in, we are unable to accept cash deposits under any circumstances.


Q. Are pets allowed? Are there restrictions for weight, height or types?
A. Yes, we are a pet-friendly hotel and pets (dogs and cats only) are welcomed at the hotel for a $75 fee. The fee includes dog or cat treats, use of a dog bed, a map of great places to walk your dog and pet waste disposal bags. Please note that pets cannot be left unattended at the hotel. Plan to stay with your pet at all times. Pets must be leashed or in a carrier at all times while outside of your room.  A signed pet agreement will be required upon check-in. Please call reservations at (800) 380-6852 and let them know you’ll be bringing your pet so a pet-friendly room can be assigned to you.

Q. Do you have pet-free rooms for those with allergies?
A. Yes, we have designated pet-free rooms available upon request.

Q. How far do you have to walk to take your pet out?
